Pididdle Short Take

Okay, how can you not love a store with the name Pididdle? The green dress with the clever name “Our Lady of the Moss” came from that delightfully wee store. And mossy it is, with a delicious bottom border on the skirt.

Why Hades Kidnapped Her

posted by Gidge Uriza

When I visited Chic Boutique again after their re-opening, I headed straight to their swimsuits and lingerie, two areas they where they truly produce unique pieces.  I already own most of their swimsuits, but I spied Persephone and had to pick it up for a more elegant swimsuit option.

Let’s face it. None of us really have to work at picking up swimsuits which cover up our flaws – any flaws we have are intentional.  We are none of us, pixel girls, cursed with our grandmothers cankles or tummies which won’t mind after childbirth.  So then – the choice becomes, what are you saying with the swimsuit you choose to wear? I think sometimes that showing less in this perfect world can sometimes say more – don’t you think? Continue reading

Smoke Gets In Your Eyes

One of my new favorite haunts is the duo of Seasons and Facets (now under construction……Grand Reopening Soon I hope). Chica Indigo has a great program that I love, keep her in your favorites and you are entered into a drawing every month for a free outfit. SWEET! So many stores have had and then abandoned those programs where you get paid to keep them in your pics…..I think mostly because the scripts didn’t work properly or possibly also because people were running Alts and scamming them….(jerks)

So anyone that I like that will also reward me for keeping them in my pics is a group I will seriously consider. I really liked Seasons and Facets even without that, though, the first time I popped over there. And this LOVELY pantsuit that I WON last month (Oh Did I MENTION that I WON? HEEE!) was a perfect compliment to one of my new PXL CRY skins. Continue reading

The Babydoll Question

Is the baby doll dress a design rite of passage? I ask because it is the most common casual dress form in Second Life – something that mystifies me as baby doll dresses are, in my opinion, the least flattering of all dress shapes. I definitely prefer a waist – one that shows I am neither pregnant nor suffering from Kallman’s Syndrome

If, like me, you want to wear a dress that flatters your figure by revealing rather than hiding it, you will eventually need to learn to edit prims. It’s relatively easy and if you copy the prim before editing, risk-free. When I saw the bright, beautiful print of this Roseo babydoll, I didn’t hesitate about getting it – knowing that 2 minutes  of editing would give me a waisted version that I would love…and it did.

I sure hope that's gum.

I don’t know what to highlight first – the magnificent detailed jacket from Cipher or the incredible black thigh-high boots from Drawmachine. However, this photo certainly highlights the quality of the boots that stay gloriously glitch free even while pulling gum off your shoe. I love these boots – sexily thigh-high, but with a bling-free matte finish that keeps it away from even the slightest hint of skankiness. Continue reading

Liquid Gold

When I received a review copy of Kungler’s new Floratta, I knew it would be a popular item on the blogs – the lovely gold textures and sassy style certain to appeal to everyone. So, I thought I wouldn’t blog it, but it was irresistible, so I decided to rethink it a bit by mixing it up with a different skirt.  With Kungler’s typical attention to detail, the the gold top is finished with a lovely bronze edge. I thought it would be fun to match it up with a bronize skirt and accessories.

Serendipity

Don’t you just love serendipity? I not only love it when it happens, I love the sound of the word. It has a joyful, lucky sound to it – which is how I felt while putting away some shopping last night. I confess this SLurl project has been a budget buster as I frequently get sidetracked and end up actually shopping while I test the landmarks. And so it was I had a folder full of shopping to sort and put away and serendipity is how I ended up with this outfit. Continue reading

Mission: Impossible

Oh, wearing different skins can get addictive when they look this good. Today I am wearing another of the magnificent PXL Creations skins by Hart Larsson. The only post-processing in this photo is cropping – and yet the skin looks magnificent and the makeup is sultry, sexy and seductive.

The better to go with my Impossible dress, my dear. Yes, the mission, should I choose to accept it, is to wear the amazing Turquase dress from Impossible. I didn’t just accept it, I jumped on it. Continue reading

Just Because I Can

So whilst working on the Secret Project this weekend, trekking hither and yon, through hot, steamy boutiques, arid, scorching jewelers and frigid, stormy millineries, I frequently was misled by outdated landmarks and landed in Terra Incognita. Sometimes I found something fun, sometimes I struggled to find my destination. But, a good explorer accepts these mishaps with equanimity – recognizing the opportunity to find new outposts of fashionality. Which is not exactly what happened when I followed the forwarding landmark for Fumi – opting to look around to see what was there, I eventually happened on Fumi on the other end of the sim. The luck was that when I informed the owner that her lm at her old store had the wrong coordinates, she thanked me with a gift of two outfits from her lovely store. This is one of them.

It’s very different from my usual look, so I dyed my hair and drastically changed my skin – to MiaSnow Myriam’s lovely Dahlia, the starlet — because it was fun and because I can. Continue reading

A Rose by Any Other Name

posted by Gidge Uriza

I was out shopping with Miffy one night, looking for something. I didn’t know what – I just knew that I’d know it when it ran into us. It was a fortuitous night, shopping wise. I discovered JunWave while they were having  their 50% off sale, I discovered Love Soul, and while wandering around other shops in the area Miffy posed this question.”Are you looking for a new dress?” Continue reading
